Essence Hotel & Spa

132 Hung Vuong St.
Tel: 3915915

For several years, we at the Hanoi Elegance Hotel group have been travelling to Hoi An on business and have stayed in many of the town’s hotels. Although over the years Hoi An’s tourist industry has grown and developed, in our opinion we feel the town’s hotel industry does not fully meet guests’ expectations. The 4 and 5 star hotels are certainly well appointed with good facilities and ambiance, but they lack detail and an attentive service. And the prices are often too high in relation to the standard of service.

2 and 3 star hotels have a more personal, intimate feel and are certainly a lot cheaper. But in turn their facilities and amenities are not up to international standards due to the cost cutting and poor construction. Therefore visitors to Hoi An often have to compromise between facilities, price and service when choosing where to stay.

We wanted to address this issue. We decided to build a hotel in Hoi An where visitors can have a comfortable and luxurious stay in a resort-style hotel at an affordable price. The hotel opened in August 2013 under the name of Essence Hoi An Hotel & Spa.

Located on Hung Vuong Street, on the edge of Hoi An’s old town and not far from the Japanese Covered Bridge, this brand new 4+ star resort-hotel with 5 star service nestles on the edge of quiet lush green paddy fields away from the crowds of the old town.
Set in a tropical garden, the style embodies authentic Hoi An charm mixed with modern influences. Our guest rooms have either balconies or large windows bringing you close to nature in a luxurious and comfortable setting. A couple can enjoy their stay in a Deluxe room or Suite while a Family room with balcony or a Luxurious Pool View Suite with connecting rooms are large enough for a family of 4/5. . We provide private transfers from Danang airport or rail station, daily buffet breakfast, morning Tai Chi, afternoon tea and sunset cocktails as well as many other complimentary services and amenities.

From the hotel, you can take a leisurely stroll into the Old Town or nearby Thanh Ha Pottery village. In addition, we run a shuttle bus service to places further afield such as to Cua Dai Beach. Alternatively relax and enjoy the hotel environs - the garden pool, have a drink in one of the hotel bars overlooking the rice fields, work out in the gym. Or for those seeking serenity and rejuvenation enjoy our extensive spa menu at La Siesta Spa hidden within the lush garden.

The hotel is managed by our renowned Hanoi Elegance & Essence team of professionals who lead the way in Hanoi. And we now bring the very best service to Hoi An Town.

The hotel is nominated for Service Excellence by World Luxury Awards 2014.

After months at sea, with ships laden with cinnamon and cumin, the Portuguese docked in the ports of ancient Faifo, now known as Hội An, were astonished. Immersing themselves in the crumbling streets, astounded by the beauty of the rice paddies, the famous dyed silks, intricate ceramics and local spices, they began to establish the most exclusive trading port in all of Asia. It was only when visitors began sampling grandmother’s traditional fare, and infusing their own seasoning and style to time-tested Vietnamese recipes, that the infamous cuisine of Hội An was born.

At Ancient Faifo, we are proud to deliver unique and individual cuisine. Our chefs recreate the most traditional Vietnamese fare from our ancestors’ famous recipes using the highest-quality local ingredients. Traditional food preparation and methods are undertaken to return our clientele to Hội An’s colorful past, with a touch of global modernity. Our bakery delivers a fresh selection of gourmet sandwiches and home-style pastries, along with an assortment of verrine-style tapas, with Vietnamese and Western ingredients. Choice is always an option for our clientele, whether it be local or imported beef, rye or multigrain sandwich bread, or our wine list that features carefully selected fine wines from around the world. The symbol shown above is the Aum (Also Om).

It is mystical and sacred syllable in Hindu, Jain and Buddhist religions and it is placed at the beginning of most Hindu texts as a sacred exclamation.

It is used before any prayer or mantra and also is said at the start of any puja ( religious ritual).

Each of the three letters of the word Aum has its own distinct meaning :

A – This stands for the state of wakefulness, where we experience life with our senses.
U – This stands for the dream state where inward experiences are felt.
M – This stands for the deep sleep where there is on consciousness and thus no desires.

Today, all over Indian and Nepal, the Aum can be seen virtually everywhere as a common sign for Hinduism.

About Ganesha : Lord Ganesha according to Hindu tradition is a God of wisdom, success and good luck.

Heaven and Earth Bicycle Tours

57 Ngo Quyen St., Hoi An, Vietnam

Heaven and Earth was born out of a simple idea: To offer a variety of interesting tours to hidden places in and around Hoi An, different than the usual tourist itineraries offered by travel agencies.

Passionate about touring the countryside of Hoi An, I often came across places that were postcard perfect, where I spent days without coming across even one tourist.

I began to bring along my friends who visited me in Hoi An to these beautiful places, and eventually their friends also asked me to take them on one of my tours. Each time we returned from one of my tours, my guests told me the same thing: “I have just spent the most enjoyable day of my visit to Vietnam”.

So following the advice of my friends, my wife, Thu and myself decided to offer our bicycle tours to visitors to Hoi An, and opened our office in my wife’s family’s home located, at 57 Ngo Quyen St. in Hoi An.
